Descriptions
- Morphology
- Solitary. Gregarious. Pileus: 5–25 cm diam., oval to convex to broadly convex, with a dark central umbo; surface dry, at first glabrous and brownish, becoming scaly, brown scales, background whitish and later grayish or brownish. Context: white, sometimes tinged reddish, soft. Hymenophore: lamellate, free, white when young, sometimes discoloring to pinkish or tan in maturity, close. Stipe: 14–2 cm long, slender, slightly subbulbose, pale at the base, rimose with small brown scales toward base. Annulus: double-edged, detaching, moveable. Odor-Taste: not distinctive. Spore print: white. Spores: broadly ellipsoid, smooth, dextrinoid, with a small pore.
